ABOUT ME
Hi! And welcome
Of course, I'd love to tell you a little bit about myself and why I do what I do. But for now, just the short version—the full package will be available soon in a blog post, which I'll definitely start writing soon (as of May 15, 2025—please remind me if it's been a while).
I have always painted.
Just like every kindergarten child starts drawing colorful shapes on construction paper with thick pencils. Only this passion continued throughout my entire school career, and tables, notebooks, folders, and later walls (yes, all legal :-*) had to serve as the basis for my paintings.
An important milestone on my path to becoming an artist was my year-long internship in 2005 at the independent youth art school in Hamm , Westphalia, which I completed alongside my vocational college degree in design. For several years, until my move to Cologne, I worked there as a lecturer and was able to give my first major commissions, murals, and art courses.
There, I learned a tremendous amount about myself and my artistic abilities. And, looking back, also about what's truly important to me. However, it took 10 years to truly understand that.

After a long and artless break (and what life sometimes throws at you – more on that in the blog sometime ;), I didn't consciously start drawing again until 2020. And it was as if, after a long drought, I had drunk large, thirsty gulps of cold water straight from a bubbling spring. It immediately gripped me again, and I painted and drew with more enthusiasm than I had in a long time.
In 2022, I discovered urban sketching (directly drawing on location from everyday life and buildings) , which taught me a fresh, impressionistic, and super cool way of working, allowing me to bring a new lightness, flow, fun, and watercolor to my art, which has significantly shaped my style. Since then, I've filled numerous sketchbooks and honed my skills with brush and pen.
Now I've arrived in Bad Salzuflen and have met many wonderful people through painting. I'm part of the traveling exhibition "Give Cancer Your Face - #1von8," have been able to present my art in several exhibitions, and my paintings adorn several living rooms and hotel rooms.
And until recently, I worked full-time as a caregiver in a facility for people with disabilities. But that's another story and will be told at a later date.
I worked in nursing for 14 years
ALL NICE AND GOOD
But how did you get into wedding painting?

I HAVE IT EASY TRIED
I simply offered it at an exhibition opening in 2024 and immediately had an incredible amount of fun! I received such a positive response and also the first inquiries for weddings and smaller commissions. This gave me the courage I needed to give it a try and turn my art into a career.
At this point I would like to say a big thank you to Anna , who answered all my questions about wedding painting with lots of advice and patience and supported me from the very beginning to go down this path (you know who you are).
It's such a fantastic feeling to be able to bring a smile, tears of emotion, or utter excitement to the faces of so many different people. And to do so with something I've loved my entire life and consider a big part of who I am.
And now I'm sitting here in front of my laptop and have already had the opportunity to inspire so many people with my art at so many festivals, celebrations and parties, even beyond Germany.
I do what I love.
Creating art and spreading joy.
That makes me happy. That drives me!
Nice that you're here
MARIUS
